After intensive research and evaluation from female test riders, Ergon calculated the relief opening of the SF Women and positioned it far forward. This relief channel is specifically tailored to female anatomy and removes pressure from the sensitive genital area.
The forward positioning is crucial for women’s anatomical needs during fitness cycling. Women’s increased pelvic flexibility means the pelvis often tilts more forward in typical fitness bike sitting positions. This forward tilt creates considerable pressure in the genital area on saddles without proper relief.
The SF Women’s relief channel specifically addresses this pressure by creating a pressure-free zone exactly where it’s needed. Combined with the saddle’s V-shaped flanks, pressure distributes to bony structures (sit bones and parts of the pubic arch) rather than concentrating on soft tissue.
