Description

Crankbrothers Klic HV – High-Volume Portable Hand Pump with Hidden Magnetic Hose

Experience revolutionary trail-side inflation with the Crankbrothers Klic HV high-volume hand pump, featuring innovative hidden magnetic hose technology, folding T-handle design, and premium aluminium construction. This premium portable pump delivers exceptional air volume per stroke with 110 PSI (7.6 BAR) maximum pressure capacity, automatically adapting to both Presta and Schrader valves without adapter swapping. The flexible rubber hose stores completely inside the pump body when not in use—perfect for stealth air-strikes—whilst the magnetic head with twisting collar ensures secure connection and protection from trail debris. Available in standard configuration (220mm, 124g) or with integrated pressure gauge (260mm, 150g) for precise pressure monitoring. Complete with bottle cage bracket mount and backed by Crankbrothers’ 5-year warranty.

Hidden Magnetic Hose Technology – Revolutionary Storage System

The game-changing hidden hose design stores the flexible rubber hose completely inside the pump body when not in use, protecting it from trail damage, contamination, and tangling. Unlike external hoses that snag on branches, collect dirt, or deteriorate from UV exposure, the Klic HV’s concealed system keeps the hose pristine and ready for immediate deployment. Simply rotate the protective cover, extend the handle into T-bar position, and the hose releases for instant use. The magnetic head attachment provides secure connection to the pump body during inflation—no fumbling with threaded connections or clips—whilst the twisting collar locks onto valve stems to prevent accidental disconnection during pumping.

This intelligent storage system offers multiple advantages over traditional external hose designs: complete protection from trail debris and contamination, no tangling or snagging during transport, maintained hose flexibility and seal integrity, clean aesthetics on frame-mounted setup, and instant deployment without threading or attachment fiddling. The magnetic connection is strong enough to withstand vigorous pumping action whilst remaining easy to detach when needed.

Folding T-Handle Design – Ergonomic Pumping Power

The innovative folding and locking T-handle transforms from compact storage mode to ergonomic two-handed pumping configuration in seconds. In folded position, the handle sits flush against the pump body for minimal storage bulk. Extended and rotated into T-bar position, the handle provides excellent leverage for comfortable, efficient pumping action—significantly reducing effort compared to traditional straight-handle mini pumps. The two-handed grip distributes force evenly across both arms, reducing fatigue during extended inflation sessions and allowing you to achieve higher pressures with less strain.

The locking mechanism ensures the handle stays securely in T-position during pumping, preventing collapse or shifting that would interrupt inflation rhythm. When finished, simply unlock, rotate, and fold the handle back against the body for compact storage in jersey pockets, frame bags, or bottle cage mounts.

High-Volume Performance – 110 PSI Capability

Optimised for high-volume applications, the Klic HV delivers exceptional air transfer per stroke—ideal for mountain bike tyres 1.8″ wide and larger, gravel tyres 35-50mm, and cyclocross tyres 30-45mm. The generous barrel volume means fewer strokes required to inflate from flat to rideable pressure, getting you back on the trail faster with less pumping effort. Despite the high-volume focus, the pump achieves 110 PSI (7.6 BAR) maximum pressure—sufficient for mountain bike (20-35 PSI), gravel (30-60 PSI), cyclocross (25-45 PSI), and even lower-pressure road applications.

Presta/Schrader Valve Compatibility – Universal Adapter System

The included valve adapter accommodates both Presta and Schrader valves with simple flip-and-screw operation (fully threaded Presta valve bodies only). No need to carry multiple pump heads or lose separate adapters—the integrated system handles both valve types reliably. The screw-on fitment threads smoothly onto Presta valve stems without the frustrating tendency to unscrew valve cores during removal—a common problem with cheaper pump designs. The secure threaded connection eliminates air leakage during inflation and prevents accidental disconnection during vigorous pumping.

Important Note: The Klic HV requires fully threaded Presta valve bodies (tubeless-compatible valve stems). Not compatible with press-fit or partially-threaded Presta valves found on some older inner tubes.

Optional Integrated Pressure Gauge – Precise Monitoring

Klic HV Gauge Version Features:

Upgrade to the gauge-equipped version for integrated pressure monitoring during inflation. The pressure gauge is built into the hose assembly, providing visible readings throughout the pumping process without requiring separate measurement tools. The sliding indicator displays pressure in both PSI and BAR with clear markings for easy reading during roadside repairs.

Gauge Specifications:

Measurement Range: 0-110 PSI / 0-7.6 BAR
Increment Markings: 10 PSI / 0.7 BAR increments
Location: Integrated into hose (valve end)
Reading Style: Sliding blue indicator
Visibility: Large, easy-read display

Practical Gauge Considerations:

The 10 PSI increment markings provide general pressure guidance rather than pinpoint accuracy—sufficient for trail-side adjustments where approximate pressure is adequate. For mountain bike applications (20-35 PSI typical), the gauge allows you to distinguish between “too low,” “about right,” and “too high” without requiring digital precision. This rough-guide approach is significantly better than squeeze-testing tyres, whilst acknowledging it won’t match digital gauge accuracy.

The gauge location at the valve end (rather than pump end) places it within easy view whilst pumping, though the non-flexible hose section means some riders prefer longer overall hose length. The gauge-equipped version adds 40mm length (260mm vs 220mm) and 26g weight (150g vs 124g) compared to the standard Klic HV—acceptable trade-offs for riders prioritising pressure visibility.

Premium Aluminium Construction – Durable Lightweight Design

Precision-manufactured from high-quality aluminium alloy with reinforced plastic components, the Klic HV delivers professional performance with minimal weight penalty. The aluminium barrel ensures consistent compression chamber dimensions under pumping pressure, maintaining efficiency and preventing air leakage. Quality internal seals provide reliable long-term performance without pressure loss or air bypass. The protective cover rotates smoothly whilst effectively sealing the hose storage compartment from trail debris, mud, and moisture.

Construction Quality Details:

Aluminium pump barrel for strength and rigidity
Reinforced plastic body components for weight optimisation
Quality rubber hose with excellent flexibility
Durable magnetic connection components
Corrosion-resistant materials throughout
5-year manufacturer warranty coverage
Serviceable design (hoses replaceable if lost)
Crankbrothers commits to replacing lost hoses free of charge—recognising that the magnetic storage system, whilst secure during normal use, theoretically allows hose loss. This customer-focused policy eliminates concern about the pump becoming useless if the hose goes missing.

Compact Dimensions – Portable Convenience

Standard Klic HV:

Length: 220mm (8.66″)
Weight: 124g (4.37 oz)
Storage: Jersey pocket, frame bag, or bottle cage mount

Klic HV Gauge:

Length: 260mm (10.24″)
Weight: 150g (5.29 oz)
Storage: Frame bag, larger saddle bag, or bottle cage mount
The standard version’s 220mm length fits comfortably in jersey pockets for riders preferring pack-less minimalism. The gauge version’s 260mm length exceeds typical jersey pocket capacity, making it better suited to frame bags, larger saddle bags, or bottle cage mounting. Both versions include Crankbrothers’ bottle cage bracket for secure frame attachment—keeping the pump accessible without occupying bag space or adding pocket bulk.

Bottle Cage Bracket Mount Included – Secure Frame Attachment

Every Klic HV pump includes a dedicated bottle cage bracket mount for secure frame attachment. The bracket installs on standard bottle cage bosses (inside frame triangle, under down tube, or other mounting points), providing firm retention that prevents pump loss or rattling during rough terrain riding. The quick-release design allows instant pump removal when needed, whilst the secure grip prevents bouncing or shifting during aggressive descents or jumps.

Mounting Advantages:

  • Keeps pump readily accessible without bag space
  • Prevents jersey pocket bulk and weight
  • Frame mounting distributes weight optimally
  • No bouncing or shifting during riding
  • Quick-release for instant deployment
  • Compatible with standard bottle cage bosses
  • Black finish matches most frame colours
  • Alternatively, riders preferring ultralight setups can skip frame mounting and carry the pump in bags or pockets—the included bracket simply provides additional mounting flexibility.
