Description
Giant Revolt 1 — More Capable. Every Ride.
The Giant Revolt 1 builds directly on the foundations of the Revolt 2 and raises the bar where it matters most. It upgrades to a full Shimano CUES 2×10 hydraulic disc groupset, adds a composite D-Fuse handlebar, and retains all the versatility and gravel geometry that makes the Revolt family so popular. Furthermore, it shares the same frame platform, flip chip dropout, and wide tyre clearance. As a result, you get a meaningfully better bike for riders who want to go further and push harder.
ALUXX Aluminium Frame — Proven Gravel Geometry
Giant engineers the Revolt 1 around an ALUXX-grade 6061 aluminium frame with a 12x142mm rear thru-axle and full disc brake integration. The updated gravel geometry uses a longer reach, shorter stem, and lower bottom bracket drop. Consequently, the bike feels planted and stable on rough, technical terrain. It also handles precisely and confidently on smoother roads. Additionally, the PowerCore oversized bottom bracket area and asymmetric chainstays maximise power transfer. Therefore, every pedal stroke counts, whether you climb, sprint, or push through headwinds.
The MegaDrive oversized down tube and top tube additionally add front-end stiffness and steering precision. As a result, the Revolt 1 feels composed and direct even on loose gravel surfaces. Furthermore, the frame accepts a standard 30.9mm round seatpost or dropper post in place of the included D-Fuse post. This gives you the freedom to tailor the bike’s setup to your preferred riding style.
Advanced Composite Fork — Vibration Damping from the Front
The Revolt 1 uses an Advanced-grade composite fork with a full-composite OverDrive tapered steerer and a 12mm front thru-axle. Carbon forks absorb trail vibrations and road buzz far more effectively than aluminium alternatives. Therefore, your hands and arms feel much fresher over long gravel rides. Furthermore, the fork accepts tyres up to 53mm wide, giving you plenty of clearance for bigger rubber when the terrain demands it. As a result, the front end inspires confidence on both fast descents and technical off-road sections.
D-Fuse Handlebar and Seatpost — A Full Compliance System
The Revolt 1 upgrades to the Giant Contact XR D-Fuse composite handlebar — a key step up over the standard handlebar on the Revolt 2. This D-shaped composite bar works in tandem with the Giant D-Fuse alloy seatpost to form a complete vibration-damping system. Each component flexes slightly under load. As a result, road buzz, gravel chatter, and trail impacts absorb before they reach your hands and body. Consequently, you feel significantly less fatigue over long rides on rough terrain. Moreover, neither component sacrifices the lateral stiffness you need for confident cornering, powerful sprinting, or efficient climbing. In short, the D-Fuse system makes the Revolt 1 a genuinely more comfortable bike than its price suggests.
Flip Chip Dropout — Two Bikes in One
The flip chip rear dropout lets you switch between two wheelbase settings without tools in a matter of minutes. Run it short for snappy, agile handling on tighter trails and technical gravel. Alternatively, flip it long for greater high-speed stability and increased tyre clearance. In the long position with a 1x drivetrain, the bike accepts tyres up to 53mm wide. Furthermore, the long position with a 2x drivetrain still accepts up to 45mm. In the short position, you run rubber up to 45mm. As a result, the Revolt 1 genuinely adapts to whatever terrain you plan to ride.
Shimano CUES 2×10 Hydraulic — A Significant Upgrade
The Revolt 1’s biggest step up over the Revolt 2 is the full Shimano CUES U6030 2×10 hydraulic groupset. This covers every component — shifters, front derailleur, rear derailleur, brake levers, and callipers. Shimano CUES is a modern, unified drivetrain platform engineered specifically for versatile, mixed-terrain riding. Furthermore, it uses a Shimano FC-U6030-2 crankset with a 32/46t chainring setup. The Shimano CS-LG300 11-39t cassette pairs with this to deliver an impressively wide gear range. Consequently, you tackle the steepest gravel climbs with ease and still maintain good speed on flat roads.
The KMC X11 chain and Shimano CUES U6020 rear derailleur complete the drivetrain. Together, they deliver smooth, quiet, and reliable shifts across all 10 speeds. Additionally, the Shimano threaded bottom bracket makes servicing and future replacement straightforward.
Shimano CUES Hydraulic Disc Brakes — Confident Stopping Power
The Revolt 1 uses Shimano CUES U6030 hydraulic disc brakes with 160mm Giant MPH rotors front and rear. This is a substantial upgrade over the mechanical disc brakes on the Revolt 2. Hydraulic discs require far less hand effort than mechanical alternatives. Moreover, they deliver consistent, powerful, and progressive braking in all conditions — wet, muddy, dusty, or dry. As a result, you maintain full control on steep gravel descents and in technical terrain alike. Furthermore, the integrated Shimano CUES brake levers feel natural and ergonomic in the drops or on the hoods.
Large-Volume Tubeless-Ready Tyres — More Grip, Less Punctures
The Revolt 1 ships with CrossCut GRIP 1 tyres in 700x45c. These large-volume tyres run at lower pressures than narrower alternatives. As a result, they absorb trail chatter, roots, and loose gravel far more effectively. Furthermore, the wider contact patch delivers better traction on loose and wet surfaces. The tyres come tubeless prepared, so you can convert to a full tubeless setup with the addition of sealant and valves. Consequently, you can eliminate inner tubes and significantly reduce the risk of punctures on rough terrain.
The Giant S-X2 alloy wheelset uses stainless spokes and Giant alloy hubs with 12mm thru-axles front and rear. These provide a stiff, reliable rolling platform that pairs perfectly with the wider tyre setup.
