Cube Aim SLT 2027 — The Quickest Bike in the Aim Range
The 2027 Cube Aim SLT is where Cube’s entry-level hardtail platform starts to feel genuinely fast. An air-sprung suspension fork replaces the coil unit used further down the range, the drivetrain is Shimano XT 1×12, and the tyres are a proper cross-country pairing rather than general-purpose rubber. As a result, it rewards riders who have started pushing the pace rather than simply exploring.
SR Suntour XCM Air Fork with Remote Lockout
The 100mm air-sprung fork is the single biggest difference between the SLT and the rest of the Aim range. Because an air spring is adjustable, you can set the fork up precisely for your weight instead of accepting a fixed rate, which means better small-bump sensitivity and more support when you push into a corner. A handlebar remote lockout firms everything up for climbs and road sections without taking a hand off the bars.
Shimano XT 1×12 Drivetrain
A Shimano XT RD-M8200 rear derailleur runs a 10-51T Deore cassette, giving a 510% range and the crisp, dependable shifting XT is known for. The clutch mechanism keeps the chain quiet and secure over rough ground. Furthermore, XT is a groupset you can service and upgrade for years, which makes it a sensible foundation on a bike at this price.
Schwalbe Racing Ray and Racing Ralph Tyres
Cube has fitted a genuine cross-country tyre pairing here — a Racing Ray up front for cornering bite and a faster-rolling Racing Ralph at the rear. That front-and-rear-specific setup is unusual at this price and it makes a noticeable difference to how quickly the bike rolls. Both mount to tubeless-ready Acid EX25 rims, so converting later is straightforward.
Aluminium Frame with Size Split
The Aluminium Lite frame uses double-butted tubing with internal cable routing, including dropper-post provision, plus mounts for a Semi-Integrated Carrier 2.1 and a flat-mount kickstand. Size Split pairs 27.5in wheels with XS and S frames and 29in wheels with M, L and XL, so handling stays consistent across the size range. Shimano hydraulic disc brakes handle stopping duties in all weathers.
